What are Standard Termination Fibre Optic Cable Deployable Cables and what are the available options?

We offer a range of deployable fibre cables that are supplied with standard fibre terminations presented as patch lead ends. The tail ends are protected in a reusable armoured protection tube that twists off with a three quarter turn.  These cables are available in various options and can be customised to suit your requirements.  The cable is MilTac (MILitary TACtical) and designed for repeated deployment.

Available Options:

Armoured Tube to Armoured Tube

The Armoured Tube to Tube version is where you have jacketed patch lead tail ends at each end of the cable.  Terminated in a stagger pattern so that they can fit inside the Armoured protection tube that installs over the tails and secures via a 3/4 twist lock onto the gland. Once the cable is deployed the tube is removed and the patch lead tails can connect directly to your equipment as if they were normal patch leads.

Armoured Tube to LC IP68 Bulkhead Adapter

We can offer reels with embedded IP68 bulkhead adapters and broadcast adapters dependent on your chosen application.   The Armoured Tube to LC IP68 Bulkhead Adapter Cable Reel option comes with standard terminations on one end of the cable and a selection of LCIP68 adapters embedded in the centre of the reel.   Once the cable is deployed the reel can be patched to as required from the adapter to the equipment.   If you are required to maintain an IP rated connection between the drum end of your cable reel and your equipment then we can also supply an LC IP68 to standard connector patch lead which can be connected directly to the embedded adapters offering your IP68 seal. 

Armoured Tube to Broadcast Adapter

Similarly to the Armoured Tube to LC IP68 Bulkhead Adapter Cable Reel option, the Armoured Tube to Broadcast Adapter Reel option comes with  standard terminations on one end housed in the armoured tube and a selection of Broadcast Adapters embedded in to the centre of the cable drum.  Once the cable is deployed the reel can be patched to as required from the adapter to the equipment however there is no option of an IP rated seal when using Broadcast Adapters.

Ark’s standard termination deployable fibre cables come with an armoured protection tube as standard.  We can also offer armoured tails for added durability.  Our unique design of the armoured protection tube gives peace of mind that the connectors will remain intact and undamaged.  The tube has a reusable twist on and off mechanism that comes with a pulling eye attached to the end.  You can then reattach as and when necessary.  We offer 2-12 cores on this particular product as standard however 24 cores can be manufactured as a special order product.  Please get in touch with us directly if you have additional requirements in regards to core count.

Whilst our examples are shown on cable reels that aid with deployment and retrieval, cables without reels on shorter lengths are also available.    

Additional Technical Information:

The LC IP68 Bulkhead fibre optic adapters are designed to exceed the requirements of ODVA LC.  The adapters meet IP68 environmental sealing ratings and are the ideal choice for a low cost, easy to use solution. 

The weather proof LC IP68 fibre optic adapters are supplied with an IP68 sealed, quick twist cap.   Therefore the ends do not get damaged or dirty.  This is particularly helpful when the cable is being deployed or stored.  The cap quickly releases allowing you to plug it directly into the LC IP68 adapter for connection onto your end piece of equipment.  Plugging into a converter box that offers you standard terminated fibre connections is also possible.

Each of our LC IP68 adapters embedded in the cable drum comes with a cap.  This is retained on a lanyard so that when not in use, the connections are kept clean and dust free.
